Why do you think religions exist?
I think religions exist because people want to belive in a being thats going to save them from their sins. Theirs different kinds of religions and most of them are based on a being located in heaven thats going to save them from theirs sins as long as their repenting. Religions give people faith in beliving that everyting is going to be ok in times of need and desperation. Religions teache people to be kind to others, help some one in need most of all to be humble in order to be saved. It gives a cens of comfort to some that go through rough moments.

I think that everything here that your saying is true, and it is also an opinion. But my opinion is that you dont have to to be religious to to go to heaven as long as your priorties are straight and your not just sining and not repenting.
